Research

In my research I use electron microscopy and spectroscopy to understand degradation and deformation of multiphase materials. My current project is funded by Rolls Royce plc and is focused on understanding the degradation of SiC fibre/SiC matrix ceramic matrix composites with BN interlayers.

I use transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and aberration corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) along with electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) to get detailed information on how the materials degrade at high temperature and load.

Bio

I grew up in Goteborg, on the west coast of Sweden, and have a M.Sc in Applied Physics from Chalmers University of Technology. I moved to Uppsala to pursue a PhD in Engineering Physics on the topic of alternative binders in hardmetals, using electron microscopy to understand changes in deformation behaviour when changing the hardmetal binder phase.

I finished my PhD in December 2019, right before joining the University of Oxford as a post doctoral research assistant in January 2020. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and can often be found in front of a sewing machine or with knitting needles in hand.
